Boom is a gathering rooted in the spirit of connection, and transformation. Following the essence of the psychedelic trance experience, it invites us to a sacred state, to dissolve the ego, transcend conventional identities based on country, or culture. And awaken a deep sense of belonging: to the universe, to nature, and to one another. It is a celebration of peace and of our human ability to co-create a space free from the constraints of dominant culture. Brought to life in 1997, it has a strong emphasis on sustainability, bringing people from 169 countries to Portugal. It is 100% independent, no sponsors.
Boom is a dynamic and evolving system, embracing both the world and the universe.
ONENESS: We celebrate the interconnectedness of all humans and living beings, uniting people and nature as one global family. No social identities, no national flags, no divisions—just everyone as One.
MUSIC: The universal language of music expands our boundaries with grace. Through the collective process of dance, we dissolve the ordinary ego and connect with the universal self. Music transcends boundaries, bringing us together and awakening our spirits.
PEACE: Boom stands for a culture of peace and non-violence—a sanctuary where harmony thrives, fostering understanding, compassion, and inner serenity.
ARTS: A canvas for boundless creativity, where imagination comes to life amidst nature, inspiring transformation. Art is magic.
ENVIRONMENT: Honoring Mother Nature through conscious actions, we embrace sustainability and regenerative practices. The festival becomes a tool for activism, empowering large communities to nurture and protect the planet we call home.
CULTURE: A vibrant exchange of ideas, traditions, and expressions of Psychedelic Culture that expands the boundaries of conditioning, offering tools to awaken individual and collective freedom, and ascend to higher realms of existence.
LOVE: Only love brings love. It is the essence of all we do, radiating kindness, connection, and a profound sense of belonging.
