Boom is a gathering rooted in the spirit of connection, and transformation. Following the essence of the psychedelic trance experience, it invites us to a sacred state, to dissolve the ego, transcend conventional identities based on country, or culture. And awaken a deep sense of belonging: to the universe, to nature, and to one another. It is a celebration of peace and of our human ability to co-create a space free from the constraints of dominant culture. Brought to life in 1997, it has a strong emphasis on sustainability, bringing people from 169 countries to Portugal. It is 100% independent, no sponsors.

Our mission is to protect and regenerate our precious Earth.It’s not only about cleaning up after ourselves: it’s about leaving Nature in a better state than when we found her. Like every other human action, Boom, too, is accountable for its impact on the natural and social environment.Ecological consciousness is a top priority before, during and after the event. Our aim is to use the opportunity of a large-scale event, all the while supporting nature’s regeneration in the months before and after the festival to raise awareness amongst Boomers.Permaculture and regenerative designs are key to transforming our relation to nature and forms the foundation of Boom’s Environmental Program.Learn more about the groundbreaking projects that have granted Boom international recognition in sustainable environmental practice.
